About Maurice Maeterlinck
Maurice Polydore Marie Bernard Maeterlinck (29 August 1862 – 6 May 1949), also known as Count (or Comte) Maeterlinck, was a Belgian playwright, poet, and essayist.
He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1911 “in appreciation of his many-sided literary activities, and especially of his dramatic works, which are distinguished by a wealth of imagination and by a poetic fancy, which reveals, sometimes in the guise of a fairy tale, a deep inspiration, while in a mysterious way they appeal to the readers’ own feelings and stimulate their imaginations”. The main themes in his work are death and the meaning of life.
He wrote poetry, drama, essays, translations and memoirs. With some works he inspired several musical compositions at the turn of the 20th century.

My thoughts on these quotes
This week, my favorite quote is Sunday: “You have to be happy to make someone happy; one needs to make someone happy in order to stay happy.” (Maurice Maeterlinck). I have been carrying this with me for years, I once had it written out and framed, and then I gave it away as a present. But all of his quotes about happiness for this week are great. No reward that comes after a good deed can compare to the reward or feeling of happiness that you experience when you do good and noble work. Happiness is present all the time, only we are not aware of it, and happiness is boundless, we set boundaries that are within our awareness and perception, and our happiness reaches those limits.
These are some of my thoughts on these quotes. I will be happy if you share your thoughts with me in the comments.
